Nike LeBron 10 "Galaxy Pt. 2?"
It looks as if the "galaxy" theme that Nike did earlier this year for the All Star Game is yet again another collection. With the KD5 "Galaxy" colorway and now this LeBron 10, what do you think we will see next? Maybe another more signature sneaker but be on the look out as they surface. Nike Zoom KD5 "Galaxy???"
Could it be that we will be seeing a galaxy themed KD5? It might be. Until then you can admire this picture that popped up earlier today. The graphics on the tongue and sock liner resemble that of the past "galaxy" theme sneakers that were release as part of the 2012 All Star Game. The outer of this shoe seems to have a bright neon (perhaps a glow in the dark) colorway finished with a orange out sole. If these did happen to release, would you buy them just because of the hyped up "galaxy" theme that Nike has going on, or is it that you actually like the shoe for its self? Stay tuned for more information about this colorway as is surfaces.

Shepaird Fairey Murals at Art Basel
In the weeks leading up to Art Basel, which is currently running this weekend in Miami Beach, Florida, Shepard Fairey put up two beautiful murals, which was first spotted over at Street Art News. During "the most prestigious art show in the Americas," more than 260 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa will take part in Art Basel's festivities, showcasing works by more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.Click the jump to take a look at the master pieces.
In the piece above, Fairey adds his classic patterns and imagery in collaboration with artist RISK's colorful background to create this beautiful mural. If you're in Miami, you can see it at 1326 NE 1st Ave, Miami.
Prior to creating this piece, Fairey put up another mural in Miami as a tribute to Tony Goldman, the New York real-estate visionary and art benefactor who was a driving force behind the revitalization of New York’s Soho neighborhood, Miami Beach’s Art Deco District, and Wynwood and the Design District in Miami. “He was such a great ambassador for art,” Fairey says of the man who gave his career a boost when he commissioned a mural at Houston Street and the Bowery in New York. “Tony was so nice to me, so supportive.”

Shepard Fairey Sentenced To Probation
Artist Shepard Fairey was sentenced to two years probation in a U.S. District Court in Manhattan Friday.
Known for the "HOPE" posters he created during President Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, Fairey pleaded guilty in February to charges of criminal contempt, and admitted to destroying and fabricating evidence related to a civil lawsuit with the Associated Press. That lawsuit, which revolved around whether or not Fairey’s infamous poster based on an AP image violated copyright laws, was settled out of court in 2011.
In court on Friday, federal prosecutor Daniel Levy recommended prison time before the artist's sentencing. "Some deprivation of liberty is necessary," he said. "Anything else sends a terrible message to the world."
Fairey's defense lawyer argued against the recommendation, describing his client as a self-made artist who admitted his misconduct immediately. He emphasized that Fairey suffers from Type I diabetes and, if incarcerated, would not receive adequate care for his condition.
Fairey faced a maximum prison term of six months, however Judge Frank Maas sentenced the artist to probation and 300 hours of community service. He cited Fairey's history of charitable work and the letters of support submitted by friends and family of the artist.
Commenting on the public response to Fairey's case, Maas remarked that "public disgrace" will likely be the artist's greatest consequence, stating that he had never seen the press take such an interest in a civil case.
Fairey is not the first artist to have been involved in a high-profile copyright case, though the criminal charges brought against him were unprecedented. Years ago, Jeff Koons was taken to court by a professional photographer, Art Rogers, after the American artist used one of Roger’s images as the model for his 1988 sculpture, “String of Puppies.” Koons argued that the use of the image fell under fair use stipulations, but a court rejected this claim, requiring Koons to pay a settlement fee as well as ship one unsold sculpture to Rogers. Recently, Richard Prince was accused of inappropriately borrowing an image from photographer Patrick Cariou in 2011, further emphasizing the slippery slope of what is and isn’t acceptable reappropriation. During the trial, the prosecuting attorney asked Prince, "There's something about appropriating images from other people that helps you make a work of art that's more believable, is that right? Prince said: "I guess you can say that, yes."

Artist Takes Every Drug Known to Man, Draws Self Portraits After Each Use
This is all kinds of cool, and everything your mother told you not to do. Bryan Lewis Saunders
is an artist from Washington D.C., not just any artist though. Saunders
prefers to take a more unconventional approach to his artwork.
Arguably his most interesting project, entitled DRUGS is described as follows:
“After experiencing drastic changes in my environment, I looked for other experiences that might profoundly affect my perception of the self. So I devised another experiment where everyday I took a different drug and drew myself under the influence. Within weeks I became lethargic and suffered mild brain damage. I am still conducting this experiment but over greater lapses of time. I only take drugs that are given to me.”
After the jump, you can view a collection of portraits Saunders drew while
under the influence of various substances ranging from cocaine, to
marijuana, to DMT. Each portrait is an astonishing look into the mind of
someone tweaked out on drugs, something that your eyes will surely
appreciate.

5 Pointz to be Torn Down in 2013
The 5 Pointz graffiti warehouse is likely to be demolished by September
2013 and replaced by two apartment buildings if the property owner’s
plans are approved.
The development will include walls that graffiti artists can use to
display their art and there will be a small number of artist studios.
The Wolkoff family has owned the property for decades and has allowed
local artists to use the warehouse to display their work for years.
However, the developer believes that Jackson Avenue has undergone a
great deal of change in the past 10 years and that now is the
appropriate time to pursue residential development.
So even though all of the art will be brought down into a huge pile of rocks, the new building will feature walls for people to display there talents.
Maybe a piece of this building will be as valuable as some of the Berlin Wall.
MadC - Layers Graffiti Exhibition
The famous female graffiti artist Claudia Walde, AKA MadC, has opened her solo-exhibition at 44309 Gallery in Dortmund, Germany! Entitled Layers, the show presents new works made using spray paint, transparent spray paint, ink, watercolor and acrylic paint.
"Her letters flow into each other and parts of one letter borrow parts of another. Everything is connected; one part can‘t be without the other. Thus, her work is a reflection of our modern life where everything and everyone is connected through the Internet, cell phones, social networks and the media. The graffiti community has long used all those channels to stay connected for decades.
For her canvases she is using the same philosophy of connecting single parts. To create those works, MadC is using spray paint, transparent spray paint, ink, watercolour, acrylic paint and acrylic markers. She is painting on canvas as well as carton from spray paint boxes.
Claudia‘s passion for fonts and street art is also visible in her published work. In 2011, her second book „Street Fonts“ was published by Thames & Hudson and various other publishers in 5 languages worldwide. The book shows over 150 alphabets by graffiti and street artists form around the globe.
Since 1996, when MadC painted her first wall, she was invited to and has visited more than 35 countries including Sweden, France, USA, United Kingdom, Lebanon, South Africa, Bolivia, Hawaii, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Norway, Poland, Russia and many more."

Nike HTM Flyknit Installation at 1948 London
Prior to today’s debut of the Nike Flyknit technology at retail, Nike’s 1948 London storefront saw a new installation to celebrate this weekend’s release of the third installment of HTM Flyknit.
Tonight at 1948 we will be celebrating the finale of our four, week-long Flyknit Collective workshops.
As our last workshop on Performance comes to an end this evening,
we’ve invited all the participants and innovators who took part in the
Flyknit Collective workshops on Sustainability, Lightness and
Formfitting to join us for the closing party hosted by NTS Radio and a
chance to see the work created over the past four weeks collectively for
the first time.
In the courtyard we’ll have the honour of unveiling the exciting
Nike Flyknit inspired artwork by one of Brazil’s leading contemporary
artists Ernesto Neto. Serving as a preview of what will be presented in
Brazil at the end of the summer in the nation’s capital, the woven
sculpture will be suspended in the courtyard of 1948. The sculpture
invites willing participants to climb into its netted enclosure,
stretch, relax and consider the qualities of formfitting structures and
their interaction with the human body.
While ahead of the third HTM Flyknit launch tomorrow at 1948, we
also have a brand new Nike Flyknit installation in store which showcases
its revolutionary and innovative technology. The first release in the
third HTM Flyknit collection will kick off this Saturday at 12PM with
the coveted black/blue glow colour way and the solid blue glow to follow
on Sunday 29th July.
HTM is the ongoing collaboration between style leader and
Fragment Design Founder Hiroshi Fujiwara, Nike design legend Tinker
Hatfield and Nike Inc. CEO and designer Mark Parker, celebrate the
groundbreaking performance attributes of a new technology that changes
the way footwear is constructed.
